Lydia Bright shares brutally honest account of giving birth: ‘I wasn’t prepared for the aftermath’ – OK! magazine

Former TOWIE star Lydia Bright and her mum, Debbie Bright, appeared on Lorraine on Thursday morning as they spoke about their close bond ahead of Mother’s Day.

Lydia, 30, spoke about giving birth to her baby girl Loretta Rose, who she welcomed on 24 February.

The new mum gushed: “With Loretta, it’s just like a whole new level of love you didn’t know existed and just like that nothing else matters in the world.

“The whole labour was magical, it was very special, but the thing I wasn’t really prepared for was the aftermath after giving birth. I mean, there were things coming out of my body I didn’t even know was in there!”

Lydia and Debbie also spoke about the challenges that Lydia has faced since becoming a first-time mum, while Debbie gave her top bit of advice for being a parent.

She said: “Just don’t stress over things, Lyd, because they’re babies for such a small amount of time and life goes past in the flick of an eyelid.”

Debbie then told Lydia she was “proud” of her, saying: “I’m proud of you because of the birth, but I’m equally proud of you because you are doing absolutely fantastic at breastfeeding, something I didn’t really take to.”

On the topic, Lydia added: “I’m just going to be proud and breastfeed in public. I’m going to bear my bosoms now!”

And Debbie joked: “Well they’re big enough aren’t they? I’ve never seen such big boobaloobas in all my life!”

Lydia recently revealed why she chose the name Loretta Rose for her daughter, after affectionately calling her Dinky throughout her pregnancy.

Lydia uploaded this first peak of daughter Loretta Rose alongside the caption: “My darling girl has arrived. I am so overwhelmed with love, she is absolutely perfect.”

She took to her Instagram feed to make the revelation as she posted an old photo of her grandparents from their wedding day.

In the snap, Lydia’s grandfather looks dapper as he wears a dark suit with a light tie and has a flower pinned to his jacket, while his new wife dons a stunning white dress with a white veil and matching flowers.

The newly weds look ecstatic as they hold hands while smiling to the camera.

Opening up about the couple, Lydia captioned it: “Romano Croia from Loreto, Italy and Maureen Rose from Ireland,” alongside an Italian flag emoji and an Irish flag emoji.

She continued: “My favourite people in the world, my grandparents on their wedding day. Growing up I loved nothing more than being with these two. So I wanted to name my first born with them in mind, Loretta Rose,” with a red heart emoji.

Feeling nostalgic, Lydia ended her explanation by revealing her grandfather sadly isn’t alive to watch his granddaughter grow up, but her grandmother is.

She wrote: “I wish my grandad was still alive to meet his great granddaughter he would be the same as my Nan, absolutely obsessed.”

And Debbie immediately commented underneath, offering a little more detail on the wedding photo as she said: “At Peters Church in clarkenwell London ( Italian chuch ),” [sic] alongside a sunflower emoji.
