LIVERPOOL LINE UP BUNDESLIGA TRIO
Liverpool may be focused entirely on getting this season done but reports this morning suggest they have plans aplenty for next term too.
We know they involve Timo Werner. The Germany striker has been heavily linked with the Reds in recent months and though he gave an insight last week into the decision which lies before him, the expectation is that Liverpool will get a deal over the line. So much so that The Athletic says that Chelsea, another of Werner’s suitors, have turned their attention to Moussa Dembele instead.
It seems that Liverpool’s scout in Germany has been busier than most since they are also linked this morning with two other Bundesliga targets.
Liverpool and Chelsea’s talent spotters have presumably bumped into each other at Bayer Leverkusen games too since both clubs are said to be in the running for Leon Bailey.
The Jamaica forward has had a season interrupted by injury and suspensions meaning his output has been restricted to five goals and one assist in the Bundesliga. But that hasn’t stopped the Daily Express valuing Bailey at around £85million.
Sky Germany also puts the Reds firmly in the race for Denis Zakaria. The Borussia Monchegladbach midfielder is wanted by Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid and could go this summer for around £45million.

ARSENAL AND SPURS EYE REDS DEFENDER
This summer is likely to see outgoings at Liverpool too and Dejan Lovren is set to be among the players heading for the exit. Maybe with a title winner’s medal, maybe not…
Lovren wanted to leave last year but Klopp kept him around as fourth-choice centre-back. The Croatia defender wants more involvement next season and a couple of Liverpool’s big six rivals are said to be prepared to give it to him.
Sky Sports says both Arsenal and Tottenham are keen on Lovren, whose contract at Anfield runs out next year. Arsenal certainly need defensive reinforcements, while Jose Mourinho won’t be happy until he’s able to field a team of centre-backs.
Liverpool were looking for around £15million last summer when Roma couldn’t afford Lovren and from their Premier League rivals, they would likely seek a similar figure.
BARCA KEEN TO SELL MAN UTD TARGET
Reports in Spain suggest Manchester United are also looking to hoover up an out-of-favour centre-back.
Barcelona are said to be willing to sell Samuel Umtiti this summer while they look to raise funds for their own shopping spree. Umtiti has made nine starts in La Liga this season and though his form has been decent, Barca know the Frenchman’s fitness cannot be relied upon.
So they are hoping to move him at the end of the season and Sport reckons United could be the patsy. Barca are apparently looking to raise around £115million and Umtiti is said to account for a large portion of that.
AND THE REST
Man City will allow Riyad Mahrez to join PSG…Chelsea have made their move for Porto left-back Alex Telles…Chelsea and City are in the hunt for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez…Leighton Baines would prefer a new one-year deal at Everton rather than join LA Galaxy…Everton are set to battle with Inter Milan for Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini.
