Frozen actress Rachel Matthews tests positive for coronavirus and issues stark advice – Irish Mirror
Frozen actress Rachel Matthews is the latest celebrity to reveal she has tested positive for coronavirus.
The 26-year-old star admitted she was in quarantine after noticing the symptoms in herself over the last week.
Speaking via Instagram, she told her followers: “Hey guys, I tested positive for Covid-19 and have been in quarantine the last week.”
Rachel, who is best known for voicing Honeymaren in the Disney franchise, said she was ‘unsure of what the next step is’ but was going to stay in isolation until she was told otherwise.
She then told fans she would answer any questions or concerns from her followers. “I would like to help in any way I can,” she added.
“Let’s please be mindful of our decisions – now is the time to be smart and responsible. Let’s take care of one other.”
The Los Angeles based actress then explained to fans why she had been tested after mounting criticism about the test kits not being widely available.
“The reality is… they are INSANELY hard to come by.
“Our country is very behind and we don’t have much of a system in place.”
Explaining the reason behind her diagnosis, Rachel went on: “I only got tested because I had been around a confirmed case and had been showing symptoms. BUT receiving a test that shows you’re positive doesn’t really do much.
“It’s not like you receive a specific medication once positive so please, if you have any symptoms but cant find a test please just treat yourself as if you are positive (you most likely are).”
She then gave her top tips for coping with the virus.
“Rest, drink, lots of liquids and SELF QUARANTINE.” she urged. “This obviously doesn’t apply to every one. Some people are at higher risk and will take different precautions,” she noted.
