Free movies to watch: Try these streaming services while you’re stuck at home – syracuse.com

Looking for free movies to watch? The U.S. and New York state are urging Americans to stay home as much as possible for the next few weeks to minimize the strain on the healthcare system amid the coronavirus pandemic.

All casinos, gyms, movie theaters, bars and restaurants are closing to minimize the spread of COVID-19; restaurants will still offer drive-thru and takeout, and essential businesses like supermarkets, gas stations and pharmacies will remain open. But schools will be closed for at least two weeks and employers are encouraging staff to work from home wherever possible.

That means we’re all spending more time at home, whether it’s to “flatten the curve” with social distancing or self-isolating to ensure others don’t get sick. As a result, you may be looking for more entertainment options. Disney+ recently added “Frozen II” and Hulu added the Syracuse-shot “Big Time Adolescence,” but those streaming services cost money — along with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

So if you’re trying to keep a tight budget (or just find something new to watch to fill the sports void) here are some options for free movies on the following streaming services:
