The Full Cast For The ‘Gossip Girl’ Reboot Has Been Revealed – Tyla
Gossip Girl fans, it’s finally time to meet your new batch of Upper East Siders.
We’ve already told you how Kristen Bell will be returning to narrate the brand new reboot, and introduced you to newbies Emily Alyn Lind, Whitney Peak, Eli Brown, Johnathan Fernandez, and Jason Gotay.
But as the much anticipated new spin-off closes in on us, we finally have the full line-up of actors who will be making up the new cast of Manhattan’s elite.
Alongside those we already mentioned, joining the group will heart-throb Thomas Doherty, who you might recognise as Harry Hook from The Descendants franchise, or, more recently, Liam in High Fidelity.
(He’s also famously going out with Dove Cameron, who worked on The Descendants, with him…FYI.)
Meanwhile, Tavi Gevinson (Person to Person/Neo Yokio ) will be joining the cast too.
She’ll be joined by Adam Chanler-Berat (It Could Be Worse), and Zion Moreno (Claws).
Apart from Alyn Lind, who is playing ‘Audrey’ – described as a teen in a long-term relationship who begins to wonder what else could be out there – there isn’t word on who the rest of the cast will be playing.
Plus, we don’t yet know if there’ll be any links to any character’s from the OG series (*prays for cameos from the old cast grown up*) and – of course – the identity of Gossip Girl.
Emily Alyn Lind, 17, is best known for playing Amanda Clarke in ABC’s Revenge, while other notable roles include Ariel in Code Black, Sacred Lies and movie The Babysitter.
Meanwhile, you might remember Whitney Peak from her role as Judith in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, as well as her recurring role in Home Before Dark.
Musician and actor Eli Brown is best known as Dylan Walker in Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists and as Dave in Spinning Out. Meanwhile, Johnathan Fernandez who has a number of acting credits to his name, as well as Jason Gotay of Peter Pan Live!
Given what Gossip Girl did for the careers of Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen), Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf), Penn Badgley (Dan Humphrey), Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald), and Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass), you can bet these lot are about to become household names.
The new 10-part series will begin eight years after the original and follow a new generation of New York’s teen elite.
The reboot was first announced in July 2019 and the synopsis, according to Deadline, reads: “Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl.
“The prestige series will address just how much social media – and the landscape of New York itself – has changed in the intervening years.”
While we’re still holding tight for a release date, what we do know is that the series is set to land on HBO’s new streaming service, HBO Max, which arrives this May.
We’ll let you know when we know more – xoxo.
