Jessie Wallace: EastEnders’ Kat Slater slammed after ‘insensitive’ coronavirus picture – Express
Jessie Wallace, 48, was all ready for her night out on the town, but after she posted a selfie on Twitter and Instagram, fans called the actress out for being “insensitive” as she posed with a packet of Dettol wipes. The soap actress was slammed in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
Jessie swapped her handbag with a packet of Dettol wipes and shared her new look to combat the deadly virus, with the caption: “Clutch bag for the evening.”
Soon after the EastEnders star posted her bold statement, the comments she received were mainly joking along with her, but some called her out for taking it too far.
One who completely disagreed with the star’s joke commented: “There’s people that are dying left, right and centre all across the world and you’re here looking for likes.
“You should be ashamed,” they continued.

Meanwhile, Jessie isn’t the only one to have spoken out about Covid-19, as supermodel Naomi Campbell updated her followers on her thoughts on the deadly virus as she fashioned a white suit and a face mask on social media.
Hollywood actor Tom Hanks, 63 and his wife, Lisa Wilson, 63 confirmed that they were tested positive for coronavirus yesterday, and their son, Chet Hanks, 29, spoke out about his parents’ diagnosis.
He reassured his Instagram followers as he wrote: “I just got off the phone with them. They both are fine.
“But, I appreciate it and everybody just stay safe out there. Much love,” Chet continued.
It was first revealed that Tom and Lisa were tested positive for coronavirus after the Oscar award-winning actor shared his news on his Instagram page yesterday.
The actor told his followers that they will be “tested, observed, and isolated”, and they will keep everyone updated.
Tom wrote: “Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches.”
“We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves! Hanx!” he concluded.
