Ann Curry’s Adorable Tweet About Tom Hanks’ Coronavirus Diagnosis – Showbiz Cheat Sheet
Ann Curry can always be counted on to bring reason and thoughtfulness to any dialogue or discussion.
With the coronavirus (COVID-19) occupying every possible level of thought on social media, television, and print, the 63-year-old has been taking the opportunity to bring solid information and reassurance to her followers.
The journalist, after hearing of the positive diagnosis of Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, offered her two cents on how this changed the coronavirus situation.
Tom Hanks’ shocking news
Hanks made the startling announcement this week, shortly after U.S. president Donald Trump’s address from the Oval Office to the nation on the coronavirus outbreak, that both he and his wife, Rita Wilson, had been diagnosed with the illness.
The Cast Away star’s willingness to let the world know of his situation touched millions. Many fans were emotional to learn that this actor, who so many revere, trust, and love, had been sickened.
“Hello, folks,” he wrote on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, “@ritawilson and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”
His reassuring message made fans feel better about the overall situation and hopeful that any diagnosed in the future would fare as well as he and his wife seemed to be.
“Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves! Hanx!”
