Poll reveals how fans in U.K. feel about Meghan and Harry leaving

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex completed their last royal duty before they officially step down when they attended the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in London on March 9.

Since they will be spending a good chunk of their time across the pond now, The Express polled fans to gauge how they feel about the pair leaving the U.K. The overwhelming majority, more than 80% voted that they were not upset to see Meghan and Harry go.

This could be due to the anger some fans are feeling over Megxit or the belief that the duke and duchess disrespected the queen and the rest of Harry’s family with their decision.

Of course, there are also plenty of fans sad to see them go and at one of his final engagements, Prince Harry showed that feeling is mutual.

The Sussexes received a standing ovation upon their arrival at the Royal Albert Hall for the annual Mountbatten Festival of Music. The event marked the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the 80th anniversary of the formation of Britain’s Commandos.

During the minute-long ovation, Harry looked a bit emotional as he held his wife’s hand and stood in his military uniform, a uniform that he will likely never wear again.

According to The Telegraph, the duke agreed to give up all of his honorary military appointments, and the resignation “from three honorary roles in the military will prevent him wearing the uniform at public events such as Trooping the Colour and Remembrance Sunday at the cenotaph.”

The duchess meanwhile donned a red Safiyaa cape dress with Aquazzura shoes, a Manolo Blahnik clutch, and Simone Rocha earrings.

On March 31, Meghan and Harry will officially step down from all royal duties. And because feelings for the Sussexes are split among royal fan,s some are fine that they won’t be in the U.K. much anymore while others will surely miss them.
