‘The Bachelor’: Shiann Defends Victoria F. For White Lives Matter Scandal — ‘She’s One of Those Pure People’ – Showbiz Cheat Sheet
During Monday night’s episode of The Bachelor “Women Tell All,” Victoria Fuller apologized to Peter Weber for her lack of communication skills. After the show, Shiann Lewis spoke her mind about what she feels is Victoria F.’s real personality.
What happened with the Victoria F.’ White Lives Matter’ Campaign?
There was an excessive amount of drama and controversy surrounding Victoria F. on Weber’s season of The Bachelor. One particular issue came to the forefront when viewers found out that she modeled for a clothing brand featuring the slogan “White Lives Matter.”
She won a group date challenge during the season, which promised a prize of appearing on the cover of Cosmopolitan’s March magazine. However, the editor-in-chief Jessica Pels announced that the company would not be running the cover because of Fuller’s alleged involvement in the clothing brand.
The modeling was affiliated with the White Marlin Marina, which promotes the conservation of certain types of fish, including white marlin. After the scandal, Victoria did voice an apology.
“I would like to sincerely apologize for my involvement with We Love Marlins,” Fuller wrote in an Instagram story on Feb. 15, 2020, according to People. “My intention was only to support an endangered species. I want to say that I unequivocally reject the beliefs of the white lives matter movement or any propaganda that supports racism of any kind.”
Fellow contestant, Shiann Lewis defended Victoria’s involvement in ‘White Lives Matter’
On Monday night’s “Women Tell All” episode of The Bachelor, Victoria apologized to Weber for her difficulty communicating with him. Afterward, during an interview with ET Online, Shiann Lewis talked about her friendship with Victoria and how she is “just one of those pure people.”
“I honestly don’t think that she had an idea that that was what it was,” Shiann told ET when asked about Victoria’s involvement with the ‘White Lives Matter’ campaign.
Shiann explained that the two women were great friends in the house, and she feels that Victoria did not know that the campaign was racist.
“I never got anything from her in the sense of where I was offended by her at all ever, and so I just don’t think that it was intentional,” Shiann continued. “I think Victoria F is just one of those pure people.”
Victoria also defended herself on ‘Women Tell All’
During the airing of Weber’s season, Victoria did not address the other accusations against her. An ex-girlfriend of Pilot Pete’s — Merissa Pence — came up to him during Victoria’s hometown date. She told him that Victoria had broken up marriages in the past. When confronted about the issue, she broke down in tears.
“The RUMORS you are hearing are FALSE,” Victoria wrote on Instagram. “There will be a time & place where I can defend myself, but for now, I choose to wait.”
Finally, on WTA, the 26-year-old medical sales representative addressed the claims, briefly. She stated that she did not break up any marriages.
At least Victoria and Weber left things off on a better note during the “Women Tell All” episode. The season finale of Pilot Pete’s season will air Monday, Mar. 9, 2020, and Tuesday, Mar. 10, 2020, at 8 pm ET on ABC.
