‘Love Is Blind’: Did Venmo Just Reveal Which Couples Are Still Together? – Showbiz Cheat Sheet
It’s been a wild ride on Love is Blind. Netflix took a risk producing the show that is like a mash-up between popular reality show Married at First Sight and the streaming platform’s hit, The Circle. Now, it’s just days before the season finale and fans are positively hooked.
When the last episode left off on Giannina Gibelli and Damien Powers’ wedding, Gibelli had just said “I do” to Powers, but Powers had yet to respond. Fans have been on the edge of their seats trying to figure out who stays together at the end of the show and who calls it quits.
But now, a payment app may have spoiled the season finale.
What is ‘Love is Blind?’
Love is Blind challenged its contestants to get engaged without ever seeing one another. This is how Netflix described the show.
“Singles who want to be loved for who they are, rather than what they look like, have signed up for a less conventional approach to modern dating where they hope to meet the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with…without ever having seen them. With no distractions from the outside world, the singles talk to a stream of potential love interests and when a meaningful connection is made, they propose and then lay their eyes on their fiancé for the first time. Engaged and back in the real world, as the couples plan their wedding day, they will quickly discover whether they can turn their emotional connection into a physical one before the fast-approaching ceremony.”
Who gets engaged?
Though the show didn’t let us see everyone who got engaged, they did focus on six couples, Giabelli and Powers, Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed, Matt Barnett and Amber Pike, Carlton Morton and Diamond Jack, Mark Cuevas and Jessica Batten, and Kenny Barnes and Kelly Chase.
What has happened leading up to the weddings?
Jack and Morton didn’t make it past the couples’ trip to Mexico before they broke up as a result of Morton revealing that he was bisexual.
Giabelli and Powers have had a hard time staying on the same page. Giabelli wanted more from Powers sexually throughout most of the experience while Powers found Giabelli argumentative and felt that he was always walking on eggshells around her.
Hamilton and Speed have had one of the easiest relationships despite Speed’s fears about entering into an interracial relationship. Watching them together, it’s clear that they have true, deep feelings for one another, but as the wedding day has approached, Speed has begun to become anxious about spending her whole life with someone.
Cuevas and Batten, on the other hand, have had one of the rockiest relationships as Batten fell in love with Barnett in the pods and found it hard to let go of him despite being engaged to someone else.
Barnett and Pike have been extremely sexually attracted to one another and their personalities seem to fit together like a glove. But as Pike began to reveal her financial situation and all of the debt that she was in, Barnett started having second thoughts.
Barnes and Chase have also gotten along really well but Chase has been having a hard time seeing Barnes as more than a friend.
Did Venmo reveal who stays together?
Since we have to wait a week between episodes, some fans have taken it upon themselves to do some sleuthing to find out who ends up together. And user @AprilParsons1 found some pretty interesting info.
“Just spent the last half an hour stalking the Love is Blind couples on Venmo,” she wrote. “The couples following each other are Lauren and Cameron, G and Damian, and Kelly and Kenny. Jessica, Mark, Burnett and Amber all have profiles but aren’t friends. You’re welcome Twitter .”
