Year of the Rat Lunar New Year Celebration: 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Cuyahoga Community College’s Jerry Sue Thornton Center, Cleveland. Guests will enjoy an extravagant Chinese buffet served from stations around the center. The event is a fundraiser for Stone Soup CLE, a nonprofit food rescue service dedicated to helping the hungry. Winter Flannel & Music Fest Fundraiser: 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday at Musica, 51 E. Market St., Akron. Performances by Rubber City Ukes, JD & Ken, Swell Tides, Daveferatu & The Highland Squares and Zip-Zapp. Proceeds go to helping the Art Bomb Brigade purchase supplies and equipment. Tickets are $10. Esther Ryan Shoe Fund Spaghetti Dinner: 4-7 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Prince of Peace Hall, 1263 Shannon Ave., Barberton. Cooked by Barberton Firefighters. $7, $4 ages 10 and under. There will be a basket raffle. All proceeds go to purchase shoes for children in the Barberton Schools.
Greenleaf Family Center’s 12th annual Night at the Races: 5:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at St. George Antiochian Church, 3204 Ridgewood Road, Fairlawn. There will be a life auction of a ride for 2 on the Goodyear Blimp, basket raffles, a 50/50 raffle and sideboards. Tickets include dinner, soft drink and racing. Tickets are $50.
