Looking for something new to do this week? Cabin fever got you down? Shake off those winter blues and get out on the town. I’ll be highlighting events, concerts and festivals right here on a weekly basis. From local music and shows to options for those of you who don’t mind traveling a bit, there’s something for everyone. Events listed are for the week of Feb. 2-8.

Feb. 3 — American Spiritual Ensemble. Classically trained musicians singing American Negro spiritual songs as well as selections from operas and musicals. Tickets are $55, performance starts at 3 p.m. Secrest Auditorium, 334 Shinnick St., Zanesville. Call 740-454-6851 for more information.

Feb. 4 — The Lumineers. Their 2020 North American tour is sure to impress. Opening acts are Mt. Joy and J.S. Ondara. Tickets start at $36 and can be purchased via ticketmaster.com or in person at the Ticket Office. Jerome Schottenstein Center, 555 Borror Drive, Columbus.

Feb. 5 — Thrice – Vheissu 15th Anniversary Tour. Melodic rock that continues to defy genres. Playing with them are: mewithoutYou, Drug Church, and Holy Fawn. Tickets start at $25.50, doors open at 6 p.m. Newport Music Hall, 1722 N. High St., Columbus

Feb. 6 — Brandon Middleton Solo Live music. Rock/bluesy style music with his own spin. Show starts at 7 p.m. The Barn, 1947 Linden Ave., Zanesville. Call 740-455-2276 for more information.

Feb. 7 — Night to Shine. Sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation and hosted by Stop Nine Church of Christ, an unforgettable prom experience for people with special needs ages 14 and older. Wheeling Home and Garden Show. Exhibition show featuring vendors from the area for all your home and garden needs. There will also be a craft show on the upper level. Show runs from Feb. 7-9. Prince Tribute – The Purple Madness. A tribute show to the artist, featuring some of his greatest hits. Tickets from $15, available through ticketmaster.com or the Wheeling Island gift shop. Feb. 8 — Jammin for Johnson. An event for music lovers to help honor the late Bunk Johnson. Proceeds benefit the Bunk Johnson Music Scholarship Fund. Entertainment for the night includes Josh Krajcik, Dave Powers, George Delancey, and others. Tickets are $10 per person/$15 per couple. Doors open at 5 p.m. Fraternal Order of the Eagles Banquet Room, 1930 E. Wheeling Ave., Cambridge.

Long Tall Deb and Colin John. Grab a locally made craft beer or pizza and enjoy music with a distinctly American blues and soul feel. Showtime 8 to 11 p.m. Weasel Boy Brewing Co., 126 Muskingum Avenue, Suite E, Zanesville. Call 740-455-3767 for more information.
