Retailers tend to thin their store counts after the holidays. Here are two closures — one next week and one in January — that are known now.
Kay Jewelers
Kay Jewelers will close its Fox River Mall branch Jan. 25 as part of a previously announced reduction in its mall-based stores. Customers will be referred to the Kay Jewelers store in Darboy, which remains open. That branch is at 3845 E. Calumet St.
Kay’s parent company, Signet Jewelers, is closing more than 150 of its 3,200 stores in fiscal 2020 to improve profitability. Warranties and guarantees will be handled by the Darboy store or any Kay location, said spokesman David Bouffard.
Motherhood Maternity
Motherhood Maternity in the Fox River Mall will close mid-week. As mentioned Oct. 24 in The Buzz, this store, plus Oshkosh and Ashwaubenon branches, were identified for closure after the parent company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
