Five things to know today:

Pure Barre

Pure Barre opens today in Appleton, starting with free introductory classes for non-members through the weekend. The exercise studio has nearly a cult following for its classes in Green Bay. It expanded to Appleton with this new studio at 3825 E. Calumet St., in the strip mall west of Marshalls and HomeGoods. Jordan Malkowski, franchise co-owner with Brooke McMillan, said classes are “50-minute, low-impact, total-body workouts.” Request a free introductory class at purebarre.com/Appleton-Wi, 920-460-9552 or by email at [email protected]

Lush

Lush, first mentioned in The Buzz Nov. 27, aims to open at the end of March if all goes as planned, spokesman David Casavant said in an update this week. Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics North America posted on its website lushusa.com that it has a store “coming soon” to the Fox River Mall, but didn’t give a date. Construction on the shop begins in January on the mall’s central corridor.

Culver’s

Culver’s of Grand Chute is hiring and getting closer to opening at 850 W. Evergreen Drive, near Meijer on Richmond Street. “We have a couple of weeks left of construction to be wrapped up,” said franchise co-owner Maggie Kauer. “Once that is wrapped up, we’ll set our opening date based on staffing.” She said the restaurant aims to hire 50 to 60 employees. “We’re about two-thirds the way there,” she said.

Kwik Trip

Kwik Trip has set its moving date in Grand Chute. The current station at 3825 W. Wisconsin Ave., at Interstate 41, will close at 7 p.m. on Dec. 26. The new branch a block away, at 1300 N. Westhill Blvd., will open at 5 a.m. Dec. 27. The new location was built because the current station’s westbound traffic was cut off by a new traffic median. Replacing the smaller 20-year-old station meant they could build a bigger food operation with more kitchen space, room for groceries and space for take-home meals, including ready-to-eat fried chicken. The ribbon cutting is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Jan. 8.

Lavelier

Lavelier is a skin-care product shop opening shortly on the central corridor of the Fox River Mall. The company’s signature products include coral seaweed that it says “contains high micro-nutrient concentrations, rich bio-active compounds, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and trace minerals.” See more on its website, lavelier.com. The Lavelier company has 38 independently owned shops. It has one other Wisconsin location in the Brookfield Square Mall in Brookfield.
