Secondhand Clothes Con celebrates plus-size fashion – WIFR
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) —– Looking and feeling your best, that’s what dozens of women focused on during Secondhand Curves Con, a fashion expo celebrating the best in plus-size designs.
In its fourth year, the show takes over Hoffman House with booths decorated with racks and racks of some of this season’s trendiest clothes.
The retail shop’s owner, Rachel Cadie says her mission is simple, making sure everyone, regardless of their size feels absolutely beautiful in whatever they wear.
Through the expo, Cadie hopes people can explore everything from gowns to streetwear in style.
“My favorite motto that I came up with myself is if you love yourself you’ll always be in style. So self-love is so important because you know when we look good we feel good and when we feel good we look good,” said Cadie.
“I feel awesome in my body, I just want to say to all the people that don’t, it’s okay if you have a little, you know, much, you can always fix that and just be yourself,” said Eden Valentine, winner of the fashion show competition.
On top of their purchases, visitors also went home with special gifts for attending this year’s event.
