Cody Simpson Says He’s ‘Very Happy’ With GF Miley Cyrus: ‘We Found Each Other Again’ – Hollywood Life
Cody Simpson confirmed he’s ‘not single’ in an interview with HollywoodLife at Tiffany & Co.’s Men’s Launch event on Friday, Oct. 11. He even revealed why dating Miley Cyrus has been a ‘different experience’ compared to past relationships!
Holy smokes, y’all! Cody Simpson, 22, just spilled his guts out about his relationship with Miley Cyrus, 26, while at the Tiffany & Co. Men’s Launch Event in Los Angeles on Oct. 11. “I am not single, I am not single,” the hunky Australian singer EXCLUSIVELY admitted to HollywoodLife. “I’m very happy. Very, very happy.”
When asked what makes Miley so special, Cody didn’t hold back. “She’s creative, she’s very passionate about what she does. I’m very similar in that sense, so I think that’s why we get along so well,” he gushed to HollywoodLife. That’s not the only thing the two love birds have in common! The couple — who were first spotted making out over smoothie bowls on Oct. 3 — have a ton of fun together, which is what Cody says is the secret to a good, healthy relationship.
“We just have a ball, yeah! That’s the most important part of a relationship, you know?” he gushed. “When you can just say…we’ve been friends…the reason why it’s not like, it hasn’t been like a really crazy, sudden thing is because we’ve been friends for so long that when, you know, we sort of found each other again in a space…we both met back in the day when we were partying a lot and we like, had a lot of fun then, but now we found each other in a space where we’re not partying, working real hard, and it just keeps things healthy.”
Cody had never experienced a friendship blossoming into a romance — up until now. “That had never happened to me before. Any girlfriends I’ve had in the past, has always been an immediate romance,” Cody continued. “And so it’s kind of like a different experience, having been friends with somebody before, and like developing naturally into something more. So it’s like a very natural, healthy feeling.”
That’s not the only change in the Aussie heartthrob’s life, thanks to this new romance! “It’s just nice to have someone to come back to and someone that supports you, because I’m very busy right now working on an album and I’m out most of the day doing that,” Cody explained. Now, he gets to “come home to somebody that gets it and understands” him, and he tries to “do the same” for Miley — something Cody “always [has done] as a friend.” But now, “it’s just like a little different,” he explained.
What’s next for this relationship? That would be Cody’s very first love song dedicated to Miley, with an expected release date of Friday, Oct. 18! “I wrote her a song this week and she’s pretty much forcing me to put it out. She’s like, ‘If you don’t put this s**t out, I’m putting it out on your behalf for you. I’m getting your Spotify login and doing this s**t myself.’ I was like, alright, I’ll do it,” Cody recalled, clearly amused by Miley’s persistence. “So I recorded it this week and I’m going to put it out next week. It’s something I wrote for her while she was sick this week.” Miley wrote that it was the “sweeeeeetest song” after Cody came to serenade and comfort her at the hospital while she was treated for tonsillitis!
The past couple of months have been a whirlwind of emotions! Miley and her now estranged husband Liam Hemsworth, 29, announced their split on Aug. 10, and Miley pursued a romance with her good friend and The Hills: New Beginnings star Kaitlynn Carter, 31. The pair reportedly split by the end of September, and now here we are, in the beginning stages of an adorable relationship between Miley and Cody!
