Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott’s breakup has been in the news all week. After all, fans thought things were going smoothly between them, and there were even rumors that Scott was going to propose sometime soon. Though the media only learned about the breakup this week, Jenner made it obvious the two had split in a photo she posted to Instagram back on September 17.
Jenner and Scott dated for two and a half years
When the rumors first started about a relationship between Jenner and Scott back in April 2017, nobody thought much of it. After all, Jenner had only parted ways with rapper Tyga a couple weeks before she and Scott started hanging out. But within a couple months, things between the two became more serious. And by June of that year, the two learned they were expecting their first child. Over the next two and a half years, they welcomed their daughter together and were by each other’s side through a lot of major events — Scott’s music career, Jenner’s new skincare line, Scott’s Netflix documentary, and more. But in early October 2019, news broke the two had split up.
Fans thought something looked off in photos Jenner posted with Scott in August
On August 28, Jenner posted photos with Scott at the premiere of his Netflix documentary, “Look Mom I Can Fly.” The photos featured Jenner and Scott as well as their daughter, Stormi, though fans noticed something interesting about the images: Scott was never making eye contact with Jenner. Though she was looking lovingly at him in a few photos, he never reciprocated. Fans left comments on Jenner’s Instagram post suggesting Scott was “tired” of her.

Though the news about the couple’s split only broke in early October, there was a major sign in a photo Jenner had posted to Instagram on September 17. She loves taking selfies in her closet and has been known to post pictures from there. But in the background of her photos, there had always been a picture frame on her shelf with a photo of her and Scott. (Her August 4 post shows the photo). But people noticed that in her September 17 post, the photo was gone. It’s clear the two were having major relationship trouble a couple weeks back if Jenner removed the picture frame, though people didn’t make the correlation until now.
Some think the break is only temporary
Jenner was rumored to have spent time with Tyga, her ex, after the breakup. But regardless of what’s swirling, some think the breakup is only temporary. According to Us Weekly, a source close to Jenner says she still loves Scott. “This isn’t considered a full breakup to either of them,” the source said. Both Scott and Jenner have very demanding careers, and it’s possible they haven’t had a chance to focus on their relationship and need to take some time apart. Either way, Jenner tweeted the two are on great terms, so that’s all we can hope for right now.
