Clearly, Meghan and Harry’s visit to South Africa has had a huge impact on them both, especially as the couple traveled with their baby son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
Attending a Creative Industries and Business Reception at the High Commissioner’s Residence, the duke and duchess met with British and South African investors, along with South African female entrepreneurs. BAZAAR.com‘s royal editor-at-large, Omid Scobie, shared footage of Meghan’s speech on Twitter. Per Scobie, Meghan revealed to the crowd, “My intention for this tour was to meet women across South Africa, to listen and to learn.” She also encouraged women in the group to “visualise your highest self and show up as her.”
Finally, Meghan told the crowd, “It has been affirming to learn that we’re not alone in the things that we believe in, and the principles we hold so dear.”
Earlier in the day, both Meghan and Harry gave speeches during their visit to the Tembisa township. The Duke of Sussex gave a particularly emotional speech, as he discussed visiting Africa as a child, soon after the tragic death of his mother, Princess Diana.
Per Town & Country, Harry explained, “Ever since I came to this continent as a young boy, trying to cope with something I can never possibly describe, Africa has held me in an embrace that I will never forget, and I feel incredibly fortunate for that.”

He also revealed the way in which Africa had already influenced his parenting. The prince said, “And as I raise my own son, I want to make sure that what I’ve learned here—the value of the natural world, the value of community and friendship—is something that I can pass on to him.”
