Be Sure to Watch These Scary Movies Now Before Netflix Removes Them in October – Esquire.com

Every month, Netflix gives and Netflix taketh away. This month, the streaming service is pulling some films that might have actually been useful to have around for the month of Halloween—Scream 4 and Cloverfield are among them. Classics such as Bonnie and Clyde and Deliverance are also going away to Netflix heaven. And get your Pineapple Express fix, too, if that’s something you need.
It’s time to say farewell to some of these titles.
Scream 4
The fourth in this beloved series, Scream 4 is the Scream for this generation. Bad news is, it’s leaving Netflix just in time for Halloween. But as Emma Roberts leaves, Courtney Cox arrives: Scream 2 is available for your viewing pleasure.
Cloverfield
Monsters loose in New York City? Doesn’t sound completely unlike the Halloween parade in lower Manhattan. But truly, this is another one to get in if you like to celebrate the month of October with sci-fi, thriller films.
Pineapple Express
For a little nostalgia of 2008-era Seth Rogan and James Franco, there’s this film: the story of a marijuana dealer on the run from hitmen. A classic Seth Rogan and James Franco featured film if there ever were one.
Bonnie and Clyde
If all you remember of Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway was there infamous 2018 Oscars flub, then it’s probably best to get familiar with the 1967 film that started it all. It’s like a romantic comedy but the heroine’s best friend is her outlaw husband. There’s also a big shoot out that (spoiler) doesn’t end well.
Gremlins
Another one for nostalgia. This 1984 Steven Spielberg film, about a boy who unleashes a bunch of misbehaving monsters on a town, has that perfect creepy-doll quality with an ’80s twist. Another early Halloween season must-watch.
