What’s the Buzz

Look good with a clear conscience. Local shoe brand Annie & Lori serves up a sustainable—and stylish—collection with the release of its eco-friendly Vegetable-Tanned Leather collection. “We wanted to use the platform that Annie & Lori has built through the years to promote sustainable fashion and to do our share in reducing our impact on the environment,” says Faith Mijares, founder and head designer of Annie & Lori. This collection is available in four styles and two colors: natural and maroon, and is available online and at their pop-up stores.

Glitters, shimmer, and frost—not this time! Bershka‘s AW19 collection is all about edgy Parisian chic pieces, baggy Scandicool styles and grunge and goth pieces worn in ultra-feminine ways. Men, on the other hand, get exciting color combos, clashing checks, over-the-top prints, and oversized outerwear.

Bright colors for the holidays? Why not? 88rising and GUESS collaborate yet again for their second collection, this time with a 54-piece capsule featuring denim jackets, hoodies, bodysuits, cargo pants, accessories and more. “We wanted to build on the tie dye theme from year one, so we based it around an acid wash concept. The majorly expanded line represents the essence of 88rising: we are forever living our lives on our own terms, guided in our belief for creative freedom, and along the way, forging an irresistible energy that enables us to push Asian culture to new dimensions. And we’ll keep pushing, leading our specific brand of Asian representation, and inspiring the global youth,”  says Sean Miyashiro, founder and CEO of 88rising.

Marks & Spencer‘s latest collection gives a nod to the 70s with classic tailored pieces in interesting prints, and warm, rich colors. Aside from bell-bottoms dominating the collection, boxy shapes, streamlined and polished pieces are also in focus—all in a warm palette of deep reds and light browns, as well as holiday staples of plaid and checks.

Tommy Jeans takes action and also joins the movement for eco-friendly clothing as they reimagine timeless styles with more sustainable fabrics for their Fall 2019 collection. Jeans and skirts are made of 100% recycled cotton, denim carpenter jackets in different shades of black are made with unused deadstock fabric and trims. While patches, buttons, and rivets from deadstock infuse each garment with a unique touch. If you’re looking for more fall fashion pieces, their trucker jackets and puffers are updated in curduroy, and their vintage-inspired pants and dungarees are available in rich jewel-tone color palette.

Who’s Buzzin’

With talent like Heart Evangelista‘s, it’s no wonder brands are lining up to collaborate with her. We’ve seen her artwork on clothes, lipsticks, and bags, but this time, Heart collaborates with Royal Gem to feature her artwork on jewelry in a collection called 2019 Royal Gem x Love Marie Jewelry Collection: The Modern Muse. “Her aesthetic, vibrant colors, and themes perfectly capture the spirit of Royal Gem’s style,” says Royal Gem’s General Manager Merrill Gaisano-Gothong. Heart also shares, “What I love most about this collection is that we can all have different interpretations of the paintings and relate to them in our own ways, which makes it all the more sentimental and meaningful.” Now you can dress up like Heart wearing her limited-edition pieces!

Feel the love in Calvin Klein Jeans’ Fall 2019 campaign, Get Between Me and #MyCalvins, as it captures an intimate look at modern love featuring real life couples. Patrick Schwarzenegger and Abby Champion, Iris Law and Jyrrel Roberts, Aqua Parios and Selena Forrest, Lexi Boling and Ben Allen are featured together and individually alongside musician Lay Zhang in the latest CALVIN KLEIN JEANS essentials.

As DKNY celebrates its 30th anniversary this Fall, DKNY channels the creative spirit of New York with a campaign and video featuring native New Yorkers talent Halsey and The Martinez Brothers in latest DKNY Fall 2019 pieces. The collection is very in-the-now with fierce and edgy pieces such as checked suiting, raw denim, and leopard-print athleisure for her; and fresh tailoring, classic outerwear and easy essentials for him.

Clothing brand AUMA evolves into a fashion styling firm with a vision to help people discover their best selves through a developed sense of personal style. “Auma is the combination of two people’s names who meant a lot to me. You can say, Auma came from love and it’s my passion and love for style and fashion that will always sustain it,” says Founder and Head Stylist, Mika Cabrera. “I want AUMA to be a conduit for people to discover themselves through clothes,” she adds.

Where’s the Buzz

As much as we love online shopping, nothing is still comparable to the experience of shopping in stores. From September 26 to 29, The SM Store brings together local online brands at the 3F of SM Makati for OODOO or “Online Done Offline” Pop-Up Store featuring clothing and accessories brands like MCV Designs, Coco & Tres, Peculiar Eyewear x @ces.style, Style Cat, and Style Trio.

This October 5, step into fantasy as Fashion Designer Ryan Chris reveals his modern-day minimalist bridal collection at the ETHEREAL, A Tale of a Bridal Fantasy Fashion Show for a Cause. “ETHEREAL will bring us to fantasy land during the entire show featuring a diverse lineup of models and a stunning display of artistry. At the end of the show we should always be reminded that behind every dream is ”e-THE-REAL,” that we are in reality, and in reality dreams should be fulfilled,” says Ryan Chris Baylen, Fashion Designer. Proceeds of the event will help build bigger and better classrooms for the students of Tomas Earnshaw Elementary School.
