Active Aging Week encouraging healthy lifestyles for older adults – Fort Wayne’s NBC

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation is working to keep older adults active.
The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department is offering free activities, events and information for Active Aging Week.
Organizers say the event promotes the benefits of leading an active, healthy and engaged lifestyle at age 50 and older.
To observe the week, the Community Center downtown will offer free Active Aging Week tournaments starting Monday. Participants can enter tournaments two days in advance.
All events are held at the Parks and Recreation Department Community Center, 233 W. Main Street unless otherwise noted. To register, call 260-427-6460.

- 8:30 am – Opening Breakfast
- 9:00 am – Eating Healthy Seminar
- 11:00 am – Cornhole Tournament
Tuesday, September 24
- 9:00 am – Pickleball Tournament at McMillen Park Community Center
- 2:00 pm – Historic Walking Tour
Wednesday, September 25
- 9:00 am – Table Tennis Tournament
- 10:00 am – Hike at Acres Land Trust
- 2:00 pm – Connect Four
Thursday, September 26
- 10:00 am – Billiards Tournament
- 2:00 pm – Wii Tournament
Friday, September 27
- 9:00 am – Shuffleboard Tournament
- 12:00 pm – Lunch for first 50 participants
- 1:00 pm – Bingo
