Detroit Youth Choir officially re-booked for Lions’ halftime show later in season – MLive.com
ALLEN PARK — After finishing second on “America’s Got Talent,” the Detroit Youth Choir is booked to perform at halftime of the matchup between the Lions and New York Giants.
Detroit Lions president Rod Wood announced the news Thursday afternoon on Twitter. The Lions and Giants are set to face off on Oct. 27 at Ford Field.

This announcement comes after the group pulled out of the halftime show of Detroit’s home opener last week to focus on the “America’s Got Talent” finals. Members of the Detroit Youth Choir range in age from 8 to 18 years old.
Eastern Michigan University’s marching band replaced the choir at halftime of the Lions and Chargers Week 2 game.

On top of the announcement they would perform at halftime, the youth choir received a key to the city of Detroit earlier on Thursday.
The others to receive the honor in Mayor Mike Duggan’s five-year tenure are Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Berry Gordy, Big Sean and Lily Tomlin.
Detroit Youth Choir finished second on “America’s Got Talent” to musician Kodi Lee, missing out on the $1 million prize. The finale aired Wednesday night on NBC.
