The season of summer lovin’ is coming to an end, so it’s time to get sloppy.
In a video shared to Instagram on Thursday morning, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello became the latest celebrity couple to hop on-board the Sloppy Kiss Express.
According to the two singers, they recorded the video of themselves swapping spit in an extremely exaggerated way in response to some haters’ comments about their PDA.
“So we saw like on Twitter and stuff you guys saying stuff about the way we’re kissing and how it looks weird, like we kiss like fish,” Mendes said to the camera. “Yeah. Really hurt our feelings,” Cabello added.
Before diving into a quick makeout session with extra tongue and head adjustments, Mendes announced, “We just want to show you how we really kiss.”
The kiss got quite the reaction from fellow celebrities and friends of the couple, so it should come as no surprise that fans of the artists and accidental onlookers also had a lot to say about the humorous display.

The Shawmila (?) kiss came mere days after Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp kicked off the Sloppy Season, a new span of time which briefly occurs in the transition days between summer and fall.
