Reader question: Is Blaze Pizza still opening a location in Grand Chute on the former Anchor Bank site?
Answer: Yes. Blaze Pizza was originally supposed to open in October, but anyone driving past the site at Mall Drive/College Avenue knows construction hasn’t started.
“We’re still waiting to get the CAD (computer-aided design) drawing from the landlord,” said Blaze franchisee Dianne Mayer. “I don’t think we’re going to make it this year.”
She didn’t have a revised opening estimate, but said delays with construction are not unusual.
“It took three years to open my Culver’s in Flagstaff. This won’t be like that,” she said.

Reader question: I noticed on a recent commute – I swear – that Stars Cabaret in Neenah has been renamed The Peppermint Hippo. Quite the name for a gentleman’s club, I’d say. Anyway, I don’t know if that’s worth a mention in The Buzz.
Answer: Consider it mentioned. The Peppermint Hippo is the new name of the strip club at 1413 Green Valley Road, facing Interstate 41 in the Town of Neenah. The name is the same as the strip club in “South Park,” an animated series for adults that airs on Comedy Central.
State records show the property was purchased by Chang’s Dynasty, LLC in January. Allan Chang of Green Valley Investments applied for and received a liquor license starting July 1 for the business.
Reader question: I see there’s construction at Wisconsin Avenue and Westhill Boulevard. Is that the new Kwik Trip they talked about building?
Answer: Yes. This new Kwik Trip is on land adjacent to the WG&R development, at West Wisconsin Avenue and Interstate 41 in Grand Chute. Work started in August, and the gas station and convenience store are scheduled to open around Christmas.
After it opens, the Kwik Trip a block away on W. Wisconsin Avenue will close. It had been cut off from westbound traffic by a median.
