Schwag Bike Shop will close this fall when its inventory has been sold off in its going-out-of-business sale.
The 12-year-old bike store is at 945 S. Nicolet Road in Grand Chute, south of the Fox River Mall.
“This is a planned closing over the next few months,” said owner Roger Anderson. “I’m going to retire, or semi-retire. I was going to do this three years ago, but I kept working.”
Anderson expects his bicycle and apparel inventory will sell out will by late September or early October. He has Cannondale road bikes and a limited selection of other brands, including Schwinn and GT.
After the retail shop closes, he’ll continue doing service and custom builds by appointment until he sells the property and moves south. “No more snow blowers,” he said. “We’re going to move someplace warmer.”
Anderson put his house up for sale and will list this property soon.
Schwag opened in this spot in 2007. From 2014 to early 2019, it moved to the corner of Meade Street and Northland Avenue. This spring, the shop returned to the Nicolet Road building.
