Paninoteca closed Sunday at 2025 N. Richmond St. in Appleton. The casual, family owned cafe served Latin American, American and gluten-free dishes.
Prior to becoming Paninoteca in 2012, the location was the longtime Sunrise Family Restaurant.
Freddy Orozco purchased the Paninoteca business and building in 2015 from the Wolff family owners.
Orozco could not be reached this week for comment on the closure or what he will do with the building.

On the restaurant’s front door, and on its Facebook page, he and his brother Donny posted a note to customers.
It said in part, “We have decided to take time to spend with our family. This decision was the hardest one that we had to make. We love our family, and we need to spend time with them.”
