Reader question: What is being built on East Evergreen east of French Road? And how long is East Evergreen going to be closed?

Answer: “Two things are going on there,” said James Fenlon, Little Chute’s village administrator. “One is GLK Foods, which is the active construction site between Holland and French. This will be an Oh Snap! pickle line production facility.”

“The other thing that’s going on is that the road in that area is under construction. It’s closed for through traffic, but it’s open to individual businesses.”

The road is becoming a three-lane concrete street to match Evergreen on the other side of French Road, which is the city of Appleton. Construction is east of the roundabouts.

“The projected finish will be this fall, an October timeframe,” Fenlon said.
