Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s dog dies after being hit by car in NYC – NJ.com
Newlyweds Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have been weathering a family tragedy in recent days — the death of their dog Waldo.
TMZ reports that Waldo — full name Waldo Picasso Jonas — an Alaskan klee kai (“little dog”), was struck by a car and killed on Wednesday in New York after he became frightened by a pedestrian and broke free from his dog walker.
Jonas, 29, who grew up in Wyckoff, and Turner, 23, who played Sansa Stark on “Game of Thrones,” got married last month in France after a surprise wedding ceremony in Las Vegas in May.
They often shared photos of their dogs on social media and could be seen walking them. Their other dog, Porky Basquiat, who attended the couple’s wedding in France, is still alive.
Jonas and Turner reportedly adopted Waldo in April 2018. They decided to get the second dog after Jonas surprised Turner with Porky, who came from the same litter. Alaskan klee kais are related to Alaskan huskies, but much smaller.
Turner was seen on set of Jonas’ music video shoot Friday holding Porky close. The couple reportedly filed a police report about the incident.

Joe Jonas marries Sophie Turner again, this time in France
Jonas and Turner surprised fans with their first wedding in Las Vegas in May, after the Billboard Music Awards.
Jonas recently reunited musically with his brothers Nick and Kevin to release a “Chasing Happiness” Amazon documentary and new Jonas Brothers album, “Happiness Begins.” Their “Happiness Begins” tour will stop in Newark and Atlantic City this November.
Joe Jonas collaborated with his band DNCE after the Jonas Brothers broke up in 2013. In March, the Jonas Brothers hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time with “Sucker.” Turner appears in the music video, as does Nick’s wife, actress Priyanka Chopra (“Quantico”) and Kevin’s wife, Danielle, who hails from Denville.
The Jonas Brothers are nominated for video of the year for “Sucker,” along with artist of the year, best pop and song of the year at the MTV Video Music Awards, which come to the Prudential Center on August 26.
