‘They have a lovely friendship’

Royal reporter Carolyn Durand told Hello! magazine, via The Mirror, that Middleton and Markle are on good terms, sharing: “Kate was a great source of support to Meghan in the days leading up to Archie’s birth and, despite reports of a rift, they are family and have a really lovely friendship.”

Durand added: “Their relationship has certainly evolved
over time, and they have become closer since Meghan’s wedding. They talk and
text regularly, they have more in common, and Kate has wanted to make sure
Meghan has felt welcome into the family.”

Their Wimbledon appearance finally quieted feud rumors

When the two duchesses sat together to watch the Wimbledon
tennis tournament, it was hard for anyone to argue that there was any sign of a
feud between them.

In fact, body language experts found their facial expressions and gestures to be quite friendly and indicative that they are now on good terms.

Body language expert Blanca Cobb told Cosmopolitan “there was no evidence of a feud at the event,” noting that “Meghan and Kate were enjoying each other’s company.”

Cobb pointed to the way “Kate is tilting her shoulder downwards as if to get closer to Meghan,” in one photo, something she explained, “shows interest in what someone has to say.” She added: “They both also have genuine smiles, as indicated by the crinkling of the eyes, that you can see their top teeth, and that their cheek muscles are pushed up.”

Overall, Cobb shared, there was no tension between the women, as she noted: “I’m also seeing that there’s nothing tense in their body-language — their hands and finger are relaxed — which suggests that there’s no tension between them.”

This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle at an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son. They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment. Their Royal Highnesses feel fortunate to have enjoyed this day with family and the godparents of Archie. Their son, Archie, was baptised wearing the handmade replica of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years. The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter. It was subsequently worn for generations of Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren until 2004, when The Queen commissioned this handmade replica, in order for the fragile historic outfit to be preserved, and for the tradition to continue. Some think the duchesses staged the appearances

There has been some buzz that Middleton and Markle’s appearances have been PR stunts, orchestrated to create the illusion that the feud between them is over.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl shared with Entertainment Tonight that the appearances “hopefully put to rest the rumors that Kate and Meghan don’t get along because they certainly look like two duchesses who had plenty in common.”

Nicholl noted that “There have been two major circumstances, which are very calculated and deliberate efforts to try and stem these rumors about a feud between the foursome.” She pointed to the polo match where William and Harry were obviously playing together” and that the duchesses’ appearance “is a wonderful treat for royal watchers.”

She added, “but I think those candid pictures were quite deliberately intended to snuff out those rumors of the feud between the foursome. And you saw them all very close, very happy, very comfortable with each other.”

Nicholl further explained that the Wimbledon appearance had
the women “looking very much like friends.”

She explained: “To have had the tennis [outing] so soon afterward, and obviously the two duchesses being so close together and so comfortable in each other’s company, yes, for the time being, you’re not going to be read stories of a feud. You’re going to be reading stories about how the duchesses get on and I am told that both of them are making an effort to get along.”
