‘Riverdale’ Stars Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart Have Reportedly Broken Up – Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart dated for two years
The actors play onscreen couple Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones. They started dating in real life and confirmed it by kissing in Paris in 2018.
The stars still wanted to be private, but they did talk about their relationship sometimes in interviews.
“She’s one of those people that consistently pushes me to be better at the arts that I’m pursuing,” Sprouse said when talking about Reinhart in an interview with Glamour. “That’s just the kind of person she is. She inspires excellence out of everybody she works with.”
He also talked about going on romantic outings together. “I really like the road-trip date,” he said. “I took my girlfriend [Riverdale costar Lili Reinhart] on a date where we drove to this location deep into Canada, and I surprised her with a big hot-air balloon adventure, which was quite a bit of fun. I like traveling quite a bit. I like road-tripping. Those grand experiences always end up yielding the greatest memories—and the greatest romances.”
A source claims they broke up earlier this summer
The former couple reportedly ended things earlier this summer. They are now back to working together.
“Lili and Cole broke-up earlier this summer,” a source said according to E! News. “The two are not living together this season.” The source claimed they were “intentionally keeping their distance from the other.” That time away might have been good since they reportedly are on “much better terms” as Riverdale is back in production.
Us Weekly is also reporting that they were distant from each other at Entertainment Weekly’s Comic-Con party in San Diego. Sprouse was reportedly overheard telling someone that they broke up.
Entertainment Tonight is also reporting that the former couple was giving each other space. “They were both at Entertainment Weekly‘s Comic-Con party on Saturday, but not together,” a source said. “Lili spent most of the night with her female co-stars, Camila [Mendes] and Madelaine [Petsch] and Britt Robertson, while Cole was on the other side of the party, hanging out with different friends and vaping.”
A source claims it’s unclear where they stand
All hope isn’t lost to those hoping the couple will reunite. An insider believes that they could find their way back together.
“Right now, it’s unclear where things stand, but it seems [like] they could be heading back in the direction of getting together,” an insider told E! News. There also might be another love connection happening between cast members.
A source claims to have seen KJ Apa and Britt Robertson together during Comic-Con. “The pair were seen canoodling inside the annual bash, where they were witnessed kissing and seen walking through the party holding hands and with their arms around each other,” the insider told Entertainment Tonight.
The relationship and breakup news has yet to be confirmed. Many Bughead fans will have to wait and see what will happen with their characters.
