Prince Harry is about to take on a very American royal engagement: on June 29, the Duke of Sussex is scheduled to attend a major league baseball game in London. Harry will watch the Boston Red Sox take on the New York Yankees during the MLB’s London series, which will take place at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
The game is a historic step for the MLB because this will be the first match up of any kind between two major league teams played in Europe, Forbes reports. And Prince Harry isn’t just attending so he can watch the classic Yankee versus Red Sox rivalry first hand. Harry’s Invictus Games Foundation, which organizes the Invictus Games for wounded servicemen, servicewomen, and veterans, is an official charity partner of the MLB’s London series.
This won’t be Harry’s first foray into the world of major league baseball. Back in 2010, Harry threw out the first pitch at a Minnesota Twins and New York Mets game in New York.

It’s unclear if Harry will throw the first pitch once again at next week’s game, but here’s hoping we get to see the Duke of Sussex on the field.
Meghan Markle isn’t expected to attend the game with Harry—the Duchess of Sussex is still on maternity leave after welcoming baby Archie in May—but we might expect Meghan to tune into the game from home. The Duchess of Sussex actually has a history as a baseball fan. When Meghan was living in Toronto filming Suits, she occasionally went to Toronto Blue Jay games, including once in October 2015 with her close friend, Jessica Mulroney. Jessica shared a photo of the duo at the game, and each of them proudly wore Toronto Blue Jay hats for the occasion.
Next week’s baseball game is the latest sporty engagement Prince Harry is taking on. At the end of May, Harry played in the Sentabale Polo Cup, a fundraiser for his charity Sentable, in Italy. The next time we can expect to see Harry, Meghan, and Archie all together is at Archie’s christening, which is rumored to be taking place later this summer.
