We’ve all been talking about it.
Those in the celebrity gossip business have been writing about it.
And now Wendy Williams has confirmed it, going public with the worst kept secret in all of Hollywood.
The talk show host was confronted by a paparazzo earlier this week, breaking down in tears at one point over the state of her family.
Things are on the verge of devastation for her and her loved ones these days, highlighted (lowlighted?) a couple weeks ago when Wendy’s son, Kevin, got into a physical altercation with her estranged husband, also named Kevin.
As previously reported, young Kevin got arrested for this incident, during which he allegedly punched his own dad in the face.
“Stuff happens in life. Stuff happens and it’s okay,” Williams initially said in response to questions about her family, admitting:
“I didn’t plan on this, but it is what it is.”
Wendy has been married to Kevin Sr. since 1997 — but rumors have been circulating for many years now that he’s been having an affair.
Not even behind her back.
The affair has basically been out in the open; Williams was able to simply dealt with it on her own and keep her private life private… until, that is, her husband’s mistress gave birth to a baby this spring and pretty much every website on the Internet wrote about it.
Awkward!
And also: Terrible!
Williams filed for divorce shortly afterward and she has made references to this split a few times on her program.
But she hadn’t mentioned the aforementioned love child until this exchange with the paparazzo.
While making a point to say she’s living her best life these days (while banging an ex-convict), Wendy said the following:
“Look, my husband had a full baby with a woman he was involved with for 15 years…where I was cooped up only to be a show pony. Now, I’m living my life.”
Well… alright then!
Talk about some brutal honesty, huh?
Kevin Sr. has since come out and clapped back against the charge that he somehow kept Williams locked up as, per her own words, “a show pony.’
He’s gone on record as saying Williams simply liked to stay at home and he certainly never banned her from going out or anything.
It’s important to note, however, that he did not read this quote and clap back against the love child part.
“I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans,” Kevin Sr. said in a statement on the topic in April, adding at the time:
“I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs.
“No matter what the outcome is or what the future holds, we are still The Hunter Family and I will continue to work with and fully support my wife in this business and through any and all obstacles she may face living her new life of sobriety, while I also work on mine.”
Whatever. This guy sucks.
