For months, readers have been curious about a massive warehouse – the size of three and a half football fields – under construction in Appleton’s eastside industrial park.

Driving north on State 441, it’s on the right side before the Calumet Street exit. The 3551 E. Vantage Drive building is north of Midway Road and west of Eisenhower Drive. Building permits show the $10 million, 200,999-square-foot precast concrete warehouse and distribution facility was built by real estate development firm Becknell Industrial.

Now it has a sign outside revealing it’s the “future home of Veritiv.”

Veritiv, based in Atlanta, is a business-to-business distributor. It handles packaging, print and publishing products and services, according to its website. It also provides logistics and supply chain management.

In a May earnings call, Veritiv’s chairman and CEO Mary Laschinger gave investment analysts a rundown of the company’s priorities.

“Our long-term strategy remains the same: Shifting our portfolio mix to higher-growth, higher-margin businesses by investing in packaging and services; protecting our market positions in facility solutions, print and publishing; and optimizing our business processes across our commercial, supply chain and back-office operations,” she said.
