The Buzz: Yes, we have keto pizza – Appleton Post Crescent

A reader asked where he could find ultra low-carb pizza in the Fox Cities, to comply with his keto diet, and I put his request in my column last week.

Readers responded with suggestions that mostly involved cauliflower crusts or no crust at all.

“Uno Chicago Grill has an amazing cauliflower crust that almost any of their pizzas can be made on. I love their steak and cheese. Order it without Alfredo sauce. Definitely worth trying for anyone looking for no or low carbs,” emailed reader Theresa Franz.

Others said Luigi’s Pizza in Menasha can substitute a cauliflower crust as well. It adds about $2 to the cost of a 10-inch pizza, according to a check with the restaurant.

For those who want to skip crust altogether, readers recommended Butch’s Pizza, Stucs and take-and-bake businesses like Eaton’s Fresh Pizza in Oshkosh and Papa Murphy’s.

“You can go to Stucs on College and order a calzone without the crust. A friend of mine goes there to get that,” said Jamie Voster in a Facebook comment. “Basically it’s the veggies/meat with cheese melted on top.”

Eaton’s in Oshkosh makes its take-and-bake “crustless keto pizza” in a pan with a layer of fresh mozzarella, sauce and toppings of your choice.

“It’s actually pretty easy to pick up a slice and eat it like a regular pizza. Of course, some toppings may make the pizza a little less solid,” it said in a Facebook post.
