Encouraging an active and healthy outdoor lifestyle at the Vestal Coal House – WBNG-TV

VESTAL (WBNG) — UHS has teamed up with the Vestal Coal House to ensure children across our area stay on track to lead healthy lives.

Sunday was the second week of the Kids on Track program, a UHS initiative to get kids to be active and run outdoors.

The program is part of the larger Stay Healthy Kids campaign at UHS, which staff say combines the need to be active with other ways to live a healthy lifestyle.

“Encouraging kids and their families to get out, to exercise together, to eat healthy, to get off their screens, get outdoors and be a healthy family together,” said Megan Farmer, the coordinator of the Stay Healthy Kids program.

The rain held off long enough for the children to get all of their energy out.

Organizers say last week at the start of the program, more than 100 kids and their families participated.
