Khloe Kardashian Explains Why She’s Nice to Tristan Thompson After He Cheated on Her – The Cheat Sheet
When Tristan Thompson cheated on Khloe Kardashian with her sister Kylie Jenner’s now ex-BFF Jordyn Woods, many fans thought Kardashian would cut Thompson out of her life completely, but that hasn’t been the case.
When he was on hand at daughter True’s birthday party, fans were surprised, but in a new podcast interview, Kardashian explains why she feels it’s important to be nice to her ex.
Kardashian wants to eliminate ‘heavy energy’ around True
At the heart of it, is their daughter True, who Kardashian is working to ensure there’s never any “heavy energy” around. During the Divorce Sucks podcast, Kardashian said of the breakup and co-parenting, “It does f**ing suck,” adding, “There’s moments, because our personal emotions are still in there, and for me, you know, Tristan and I broke up not too long ago, so it’s really raw.”
She continued: “Those emotions can be heightened at times, but I do everything in my power to not even bring… True is like a year and a month old, so she doesn’t really know what’s happening, but to me, she does know. She feels energy, and I’m a big believer of that. So, I do everything in my power to not put any sort of heavy energy around her. Maybe that sounds a little too bohemian for some people.”
Why Thompson was at True’s birthday party
During the interview, host Laura Wasser noted, “I saw photos of the birthday party that was last month, and Tristan was there, yes? And I mean, that’s amazing for [True].”
Kardashian said she realized that this was an important event for her daughter and didn’t want to leave Thompson off the guest list. She shared: “Who knows if they remember their first birthday? But there will be pictures. There will be.”
While Thompson was at True’s lavish birthday party, fans couldn’t help but notice how it was awkward between Kardashian and Thompson, proving that she hadn’t forgiven him for cheating on her.
She focuses on what’s important for her daughter
Kardashian further shared her reasons behind Thompson being on hand at the party, noting: “And I didn’t do it ’cause I thought she was going to remember this first party. First of all, the party, there’s like unicorns and things she doesn’t even know, I could’ve gotten stuffed animals. It was really for me. I just wanted a happy, heavenly place. But I know she’s going to want to look back at her childhood memories, like we all do. And I want to give her the same thing.”
She continued, “Me and my
sisters, we will sit on the floor, looking at our old photo albums, talking. We
don’t remember. We remember what our parents told us and we act like we know
everything about this photo and I want to give her the same thing.”
Despite the cheating, Kardashian had high praise for Thompson and wanted to keep things “civilized,” sharing, “I know her dad is a great person. I know how much he loves her and cares about her. So, I want him to be there. You know, it was civilized, and we did it.”
