I’m a Celebrity 2018: Jamie Redknapp drops Harry Redknapp BOMBSHELL after jungle win – Express

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! came to its end last night after contestants spent weeks in the jungle.

After many humid and hungry nights former football manager Harry Redknapp was crowned the winner.

And although Harry’s presence in the jungle had been leaked a while before the announcement, it has now been revealed he hadn’t told his entire family about joining the show.

Jamie Redknapp spoke to Roman Kemp on Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Coca-Cola in which he explained his father going into the jungle was “bizarre”.

Roman asked: “What have you made of it all?” to which Jamie responded: “I remember about a week, well ten days, before he was going in to the jungle, I picked up the paper and it said Harry Redknapp’s going to go in, I thought, ‘Oh what a great story, I’ll ring my dad and tell him’.

“I said, ‘Dad have you seen this?’ He went, ‘I’m doing it!’”

Jamie continued: “He said: ‘You would have told me off,’ I said I wouldn’t tell you off I just would have had a conversation to say look, do you think it’s the right thing to do?”

But he went on to comment: “But look it’s 100% been the right thing to do. He’s loved it.

“I mean, he’s surprised me how brave he’s been. Every challenge he’s just gone in there and thought I gotta do this, I gotta do it for the team, I gotta win all the stars.”

Jamie later explained that his father had “never seen the show”.

“He doesn’t watch that sort of TV,” he explained. “He watches football or nothing – or a little bit of horse racing. He loves it.”

Jamie also spoke about the excellent reputation he has garnered in the show, adding: “I think the fact that he’s come through it and everybody likes him. As a son it’s all you can ask for.

“And people come up to me – you know young kids are going, ‘your dad’s great’.

“And I’m like: Yeah, you know what? He is great. And I’m really happy, and I’m proud of him.”

Jamie later spoke about his favourite moment of his dad’s appearance in the show – when his mother, Sandra Redknapp, arrived.

The emotional reunion left Harry extremely grateful to see his wife once again.

“It was so nice, and it’s so real,” Jamie commented.

“There is a genuine love there and that’s what really struck me.”

Harry spoke to Good Morning Britain this morning, in which he told Piers Morgan: “I had four days without eating. I lost a stone.”
