Trump denies knowing Lil Jon; 'Breaking Bad' movie; more: Buzz
WHAT? President Donald Trump denied knowing who Lil Jon is in a press conference Wednesday at the White House after the 2018 midterm elections. Trump got heated with several “fake news” reporters, including CNN’s Jim Acosta and PBS’ April Ryan, but also argued with Yahoo News’ White House correspondent Hunter Walker, who asked about allegations that Trump has used racist language, including allegedly using the N-word and calling Lil Jon an “Uncle Tom.”
“I don’t know who Lil Jon is,” Trump replied.
When Walker pointed out that the “Yeah!” and “Get Low” rapper was on “The Apprentice,” Trump said “Oh, he was? Okay.” (Lil Jon was on two seasons of “Celebrity Apprentice,” the reality TV show hosted by Trump, in 2011 and 2013.) Lil Jon quickly became a trending topic on social media, with photos showing him and Trump together.
Lil Jon previously said in 2016 that Trump called him “Uncle Tom” in the show’s boardroom, but stopped using the word when he was told it was derogatory. Trump has repeatedly denied using any racist language, both on “Apprentice” tapes and off-camera: “I never used racist remarks. I have never used racist remarks,” he said Wednesday.
