Ariana Grande Responded to Tweet About Celebrity Engagements
Ariana Grande tweeted and then later deleted her response to a fan’s statement that questioned the validity of quick engagements after Justin Bieber‘s reported proposal to Hailey Baldwin.
As pointed out by People, one fan on Twitter had questioned the motives behind the now confirmed engagement of Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, and the unconfirmed engagement between Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin. People reports that a fan tweeted on Sunday, “First Ariana get engaged to Pete Davidson and now Justin Bieber to Hailey Baldwin the devil works hard but Scooter Braun works harder.” Scooter is the manager of both pop stars.
The “No Tears Left to Cry” singer apparently spotted the tweet, and responded, writing, “You do realize we are human being who love and have lives… right? And that Scooter is a wonderful human being too who cares first n foremost [about] our health and happiness? Love is lit. Sh*t happens. I hope to god it happens to you too. U deserve it.”
Another fan on social media also jumped in, and pointed out that the tweet was “a joke.” Ariana again responded, defending Scooter, with, “okay okay ? be nice to that man. he’s wonderful. and very human. always puts his artists’ health and happiness first.”
Ariana’s point about celebrity relationships is an important one. Fans might be surprised by the news of their favorite stars getting engaged, but it’s important to remember that ultimately, no matter how public their lives may be, celebrities are human, too. The age and traditions of marriage are constantly changing, and only the people in the relationship can decide when, how, or if being engaged is right for them.
Additionally, as the average age in which one gets married continues to rise across the United States, so too it seems has stigma surrounding the practice of young marriage. Ultimately, whatever decision someone makes regarding their relationship or their marriage is a personal one, and it’s always a good idea to do what’s right for you, and not what others may deem appropriate.
