GROCERY GOSSIP: Together as one for the cause
Zirkova One+Together, is a vodka with a mission – to build on positive change, by lending its voice to a variety of international charities and foundations, as well as partnering with a slew of social causes, including justice to the LGBT community in Canada and abroad.
This vodka company – which started in Ontario in the mid-2000s under the name Slava — lends its name and support in donations, resources and co-creating crucial programs, campaigns and film series to help others, both in Canada and abroad.
Company CEOs John and Katherine Vellinga consolidated Kirkova and Slava in 2015 into two titles: Slava become Zirkova One, and Kirkova became Kirkova Together, thus was Zirkova One+Together born – two bottles, both with the same powerful messaging of bringing awareness and helping in various causes including the plight of gay men in middle eastern countries and saving our oceans as well.
The list is endless – not bad for a vodka made in Zolotonosha, Ukraine, considered the birthplace of vodka, and in one of the oldest facilities in the world.
“Zirkova One+Together believes that every one of us is a unique and vital part of this beautiful tapestry that we call humanity,” say company officials. “In Ukraine, there is a traditional toast, ‘Budmo’ – or ‘just be’ – that acknowledges the greatness in each of us. We are committed to empowering everyone to do just that.”
