Have you ever watched The Purge franchise and said, “Who the actual hell thought this mess was a good idea?” Well, you’re in luck, because now we have an explanation! Turns out it was Aunt May (JK…but it is Marisa Tomei) and a team of out-of-touch government weirdos who think the only way to solve America’s mounting violence problem is with MORE violence. The movie follows the chaos that ensued after the commencement of the first purge, and TBH it looks scary AF.

If you didn’t see the first Ant-Man movie…WTF, stop reading this article and go rent it. It’s okay, I’ll wait.

You back?

Okay, so as the title suggests, this sequel will focus more on Ant-Man and the Wasp’s budding relationship as an ass-kicking, size-changing team. And, if nothing else, this movie should be the perfect answer to our Avengers cravings.

The amazingly sweet and spooky franchise is back with a family-friendly, summer-themed romp. When Dracula’s daughter, Mavis, surprises him with a cruise vacation, all kind of heck breaks lose. Especially when Dracula falls for the ship’s mysterious captain, Ericka, who also happens to be Van Helsing’s great-granddaughter. Also, Blobby is my personal fave.

Now, you listen here: I love Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and I do not give a flying toot who knows it. I would watch this man star in ANYTHING. In this Die Hard-esque action extravaganza, Mr. The Rock must save his family from the thrilling clutches of an architecture project gone wrong. When the tallest, safest skyscrapper in the world is set ablaze and he is framed for the crime, he must figure out who the real culprit is, all while diving off of buildings. Just take all my money now, and I’ll explain it to my student loans provider later.

In comedian Bo Burnham’s first foray into direction, 13-year-old Kayla is just trying to survive the last week of middle school before being thrust into the genuine nightmare-scape that is high school. Kayla is seen as “quiet” and reserved by her classmates when, in reality, she’s a big, bright personality waiting to open up to people. Just the trailer alone has me feeling things because the premise is seriously relatable, especially when you remember how you felt at this incredibly tender age.

If you’re the type of person who has tape over the webcam and microphone on your laptop, this movie was designed to give you nightmares forever. The sequel to the paranormal success Unfriended, Unfriended: Dark Web has a similar structure but instead of ghosts, it focuses on a group of friends finding some creepy, dark AF info on a stranger’s laptop, which sends them down a rabbit hole into the worst parts of humanity.
