Boundaries: A comedy-drama about a mother (Vera Farmiga) and her young son who are forced to drive her father (Christopher Plummer) across country after he’s expelled from a nursing home for selling pot.
Breath: A pair of small-town Australian boys in the 1970s are challenged to take greater risks when they meet an older surfer (Simon Baker, who also directed) in this coming-of-age drama.
Damsel: Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska star in this offbeat Western about a pioneer who must travel across country to wed his beloved. A miniature horse is involved. Written and directed by the Zellner brothers.
Eating Animals: Based on the book by Jonathan Safran Foer, this documentary looks at issues involving “factory farmed” animals raised for human consumption, and at farmers who are trying to employ more humane methods.
Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf: A documentary detailing the life and work of acclaimed Dutch garden designer Piet Oudolf, who has become famous for his work on sites such as New York City’s High Line and Chicago’s Lurie Gardens.
Leave No Trace: This intense drama looks at a troubled veteran (Ben Foster) and his daughter (Thomasin McKenzie) who live off the grid in Oregon. From “Winter’s Bone” director Debra Granik.
The Most Unknown: A documentary that follows the work of nine scientists as they travel far and wide to answer some of the largest and most perplexing questions facing humankind, such as, “What is time?”
Sicario: Day of the Soldado: Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro reprise their roles from 2015’s “Sicario” in this sequel, about an attempt, sponsored by the U.S. government, to incite a war between rival Mexican drug cartels.
Uncle Drew: Sports comedy with current NBA star Kyrie Irving and former players including Shaquille O’Neal and Chris Webber about an attempt by septuagenarian players to win a Harlem street basketball tournament.
