Reddit doesn't know what to make of Lifestyle Sports' new ad with Dublin rap duo Versatile
YOU MIGHT NOT be familiar with Dublin rap duo Versatile.
Alex ‘Eskimo Supreme’ Sheehan and Casey ‘Casper’ Walsh have been producing tracks for Outburst’s YouTube channel since 2014. They’re certainly making names for themselves within the Irish rap and hip-hop scene, having headlined Life Festival earlier this summer.

As you can see, their style is a little, shall we say, controversial and offbeat (in that they explicitly rap about taking drugs and beating people up. Sure doesn’t everyone though).
Regardless, they’re two Dublin boys through-and-through.
… Which is probably why Lifestyle Sports Trainer Central decided to make Versatile the face of their summer collection of trainers (sorry, runners, Brits out).

The lads talk about what makes up an Irish summer – burnt backs, 99s, skulling cans on the canal. Drink in the sound of them saying “summah twenty ate-een”.
Anyway, the video ended up on Reddit, as these things tend to do, and some users were very confused altogether.
Starting the thread, a user wrote: “I’m so out of touch with the youth of dublin.”
Some struggled to believe that the ad campaign wasn’t a joke. Rest assured, it is, and the lads are only bleedin’ buzzin’ about it.
You can’t say it doesn’t get people talking, anyway …
