The article from Sky Sports states:

“Sunderland and Bolton have both made enquiries for Peterborough captain Jack Baldwin, according to Sky sources.

The two sides are competing for the 24-year-old centre-back, who is valued at £250,000.

The Black Cats need to sell before they make an official offer however, with Bolton hoping to take advantage and tie up a deal for the defender next week.”

So who is Jack Baldwin?

Well, the 24 year old centre back joined Peterborough United in 2014 from Hartlepool United for £500,000.

In four and a half years with Peterborough, Baldwin has scored five times in 118 games, including 43 appearances last season.

Baldwin has plenty of experience in the Football League.

Baldwin has been linked with several sides in England and Scotland, and could be the first player that Wanderers spend money on for 3 12 years. The last player of course was Filip Twardzik from Celtic in January 2015.

With Phil Parkinson in the market for younger players, Baldwin ticks the boxes in that regard. But whether he will be the player that Wanderers finally spend cash on remains to be seen.
