Avenue Art & Co. will relocate at the end of the month.

Even though it’s leaving its namesake College Avenue, it will soon be facing another avenue: Northland Avenue.

Avenue Art will remain open at its current address, 1350 W. College Ave. in Appleton, through June 28.

It reopens July 9 at 2304 W. Nordale Drive, in Grand Chute, near Floors by Roberts and The Dog House, facing Northland.

“The new location fits our needs better and with what our customers are looking for,” said owner Karen Hertz-Sumnicht. “As we’ve evolved over the last 30-plus years, we go more to the customer and are working with customers at their locations.”

The new smaller shop will continue to serve custom and commercial framing customers, the backbone of its business.

It will also continue to have gifts, artwork, candles and cards in its retail area.

The shop originally opened in 1987 in City Center Plaza in downtown Appleton. It has been in its current spot for the last six years. With the move, the phone number will remain the same.
