ASENSIO TO PUSH FOR LIVERPOOL DEAL?
It is clearly nonsense but what lovely, lovely nonsense. According to reports in Spain, Marco Asensio has told Real Madrid he wants out of the club if they sign Neymar. He started just 19 La Liga games last season and played just a minute of the Champions League final and he wants more – not less – football next season.
Apparently, Asensio – who scored six La Liga goals last season – is a fan of both Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp. After moves for Nabil Fekir and Manuel Lanzini collapsed, Asensio could be the new target. That would be lovely.
REAL TURN TO MAN UNITED TARGET
We have long heard how much Jose Mourinho likes Sergej Milinkovic-Savic but now it looks like the Lazio midfielder may have a whole heap of rather loaded admirers. According to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (we are not bilingual but we are guessing ‘The Message’), Real Madrid are keen on the Serb.
And what kind of price are we talking? A massive kind of price, that’s what. The number mentioned is €150m, which is about £132m in our island money. That is probably too rich for Premier League blood.
KANTE FOR PSG?
Obviously N’Golo Kante will be getting itchy feet now; the man expects to win a title every season and Chelsea fell way short this time. He would win titles at PSG and, according to Paris United (us neither), he Frenchman is top of their wanted list. Well he would be; he is brilliant.
Real Madrid are also said to be interested in Kante, which seems a little greedy given the above. Leave some midfielders for other clubs, fellas.
