After many long months of cryptic behaviour, Kanye West’s new album YE has finally arrived.
So far, a bunch of people who joined him in Wyoming — and anyone who tuned in for the livestream — are the only people who have listened to it.
Unsurprisingly, many of the people who did listen had some thoughts.
Plenty of people seemed to love it.
#YE is nuts. Kanye’s happiest, most hopeful…and PRETTIEST album by a fucking mile. Rich, melodic production that’s confidently sparse when it needs to be and goes widescreen when called for. Few brush strokes, but they’re big, and bright, and have a million colors in them.

The album isn’t yet appearing on streaming services, but Pitchfork and others are reporting that people who purchase merch bundles on Kanye’s site will receive a digital copy on the 1 June release date (Mashable has reached out to confirm details of this).
