Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are Enjoying Their Honeymoon—In Canada
The royal wedding is officially over (tears), but it’s time to celebrate for the newlyweds! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly on their honeymoon—and it’s not where you’d expect.
According to TMZ, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly chosen Canada as their vacation spot of choice! Despite speculation on where the two would choose to honeymoon—many believed they would opt for an African locale—it seems the two have chosen Alberta’s Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge (located in the middle of Jasper National Park). The two are reportedly enjoying some much-deserved R&R at the Outlook Cabin—which costs around $8,850 CAD (or $6818.13 USD) per night. Take a look at the royals’ cabin of choice:
According to TMZ, the Canadian lodge isn’t an unusual vacation destination for royals: King George VI and the Queen Mother stayed in 1939, and Queen Elizabeth I and Prince Philip visited a handful of times—as recently as 2005.
Prior to this recent news, the many had speculated frequently on where the two would choose to stay after the royal wedding. Royal expert royal expert Omid Scobie previously told Elle that he believed the two would opt for a spot in Africa, considering the significance the continent has with the newlyweds.
“Africa has played a huge role in Harry and Meghan’s relationship—it was the place they fell in love, the place they vacationed before the engagement, and even where Harry bought the center diamond for Meghan’s ring,” Scobie said. “The couple have been keen to explore other countries in Africa, and I’m certain we will see them do that on this honeymoon.”

Scobie had also previously predicted that Harry might take a page out of his big brother’s book, opting for Zanzibar or the Seychelle, which is where Prince William and Kate Middleton honeymooned in 2011.
While the cabin is over $6,000 a night now, we’re sure the price will chance once these two are done with it.
