A number of Grand Chute restaurants and food service operations have the same name, menus and decor.

But you’ll see new faces behind the counter.

Plus, a 27-year-old business in Freedom was sold and will change what it offers.

Here’s a quick rundown of the ownership changes:

New York Deli changed ownership earlier this month at 1853 N. Casaloma Drive in Grand Chute. Carl Sanderfoot, who owned and operated the deli for 14 years, sold it to Janet and Chris Gorden. Sanderfoot, meanwhile, scaled back but still operates Josefs Gyros & Kabobs in downtown Appleton. “I decided it was time to slow down a bit and make more time for family,” he said.

El Agave Mexican Grill & Cantina at 1750 N. Casaloma Drive in Grand Chute was sold last month. Its new owners are cousins Sandra Hernandez and Rene Hernandez. “This was a good opportunity,” said Rene. He said his goal was to step up service, speed and friendliness.

Great American Cookies in the Fox River Mall’s food court has changed hands. Tim and Kristy Lamers owned the franchise for 11 years, and they sold the business to Tom Nooker from Manitowoc. Earlier this year, Lamers sold his Pretzelmaker franchise in the mall to its manager, Adam Hogan. Lamers said he’s now weighing options including finishing his MBA or taking another employment offer.

DJ Video and Tanning in Freedom is closing its video side, but tanning will continue under new owners, brothers Craig and Jason Zwiers. After 27 years in business, owner Dennis J. Semrow sold the building at N4083 County E to the brothers and is exiting the video rental business. He’ll sell off nearly 7,000 movies and games starting June 1.
