Reader question: I heard Shelley’s Supper club is closing. Is that true?
Answer: “We’re not closing,” said Shelley Cox, owner of Shelley’s Supper Club at 532 Grand Ave. in Little Chute, in the former Jacks or Better spot.
“I’m working as hard as I can to make this place a success.”
She’s upfront, however, about what she’s been through.
“I suffered a heart attack on Friday the 13th, but was back to work that following Wednesday. I’m fine,” she said.
Cox bought the restaurant last July and leases the building.
She said the building’s owner is going through foreclosure, so she made arrangements with the bank to continue leasing the building going forward.
She had her biggest day so far during the Bazaar After Dark street festival in Little Chute a week ago. She’s gearing up now for a Mother’s Day brunch buffet. Her similar Easter brunch sold out.
